Sheesh.
Finding this blog was like finding a fossil, oh my word. I had completely forgotten about this thing. Its absolutely insane. I read back through my other posts and its only been about a year but things have changed. My last post was talking about spring camp. I was there again, for this year, a month or two ago. Things are different now. So much has changed but it feels the same and its tripping me out. Its crazy what a year will do. I'm having trouble myself wrapping my head around it. Maybe I`ll start writing here again. Typing into the void, as it were. I don't know. I guess we'll see.

Oh Dear....
Ok. Don't lynch me, you guys. I have been pretty busy since I last posted. Tempus Fugit. So! Quick recap. Went to spring camp with my JROTC group with my high school (which was amazing, by the way. so worth it. I had so much fun with my friends, and it was simply fantastic. We all made some pretty good memories.) Flash forward, and I had broken up with my first boy friend. It was me who ended it, but we wont go into that. It was the end of the school year, and I was way past ready for summer. watched my siblings, got paid. Then I went to girls camp with my church. I have always loved girls camp, but it was really different because our wards had split and I didn't really have any friends in my ward. So I bounced back and forth between my ward and my friends. It was definitely a balancing act, but I had a good time, got to ride horses, and finally made it to the top of the rock wall. *victory punch* Anyways, after Girls Camp, I started to get ready to go to California to visit my family. (which, coincidentily, is where I am writing this from.) So! That's the deal. The very, very short version of it, anyway. I have read, but that will be a different post for a different day.

Harry Potter
I don't know why, but I-for some reason- always go back to certain books or series. And Harry Potter is one of them. I absolutely adore them, the charecters, the development, the relationships, the plot, and, of course, the magic. Harry Potter is one of those series that have impacted an entire generation, and will continue to be a part of peoples lives. So many people can relate to it, the characters, that it is hard to not find someone who likes it. Or loves it. We can escape into that world. We can draw inspiration from it, and it helps to make us better. It teaches lessons that NEED to be taught. Lessons about Friendship, and Bravery, and standing up for what is right, instead of what is easy. There are so many quotes that can be taken from it, so many that strike a note with us. I think that the way these books impact people from all over the world is simply incredible. And yes, dare I say it, magical. It is hard for me to put into words my thoughts and feelings about these books, simply because they have made such an impact upon me. I am proud to call myself a Potterhead. And yes, you may quote me on that.

Things Not Seen
This was a really good book. And I have to admit, I was a little surprised. I honestly didn't really expect to like it, because I just randomly grabbed it off the shelf of my library `cause I thought the title was cool. Things Not Seen is by Andrew Clements, the author of Frindle and A Week In The Woods, along with others. This particular book, however, is about Bobby, a 15-year old boy who is not really noticed at school, not really noticed at home, either, come to think of it, and is normal in every way except for one morning he wakes up to find himself invisible. Yes, invisible. His entire life is flipped upside down, and he needs to find a solution, fast. This book really is good, and I love Andrew Clements. It was interesting to see how Bobby dealt with his problem. I think that he evolves as a person, and he makes a new friend, who, like Bobby, has an issue, albeit of a slightly different nature. The two of them help each other mature, and, in my opinion, think about things differently, and help each other to see themselves. I would recommend this, and if you disagree with my explanation, let me know! (Because, as we are aware, I am horrible at explaining books. :p) Read on!

The Mortal Instruments
Has anyone read the Mortal Instruments series? I have. And they are in my top ten favorite books! I love the characters, and the plot. Generally everything. I know that is a little vague, but oh well. For those of you not familiar with the storyline, the first book is about a 15 year old girl named Clary, who goes to a club called Pandemonium and witnesses three teenagers covered in strange looking tattoos and with weapons committing a murder, and she is the only one who can see them. She goes home to find her mother missing, and is attacked by a demon, but is saved by Jace, one of the teens from the club, and she is introduced to the world of Shadowhunters. Shadowhunters,(also called Nephilim), are demon hunters and they are a race of human-angel hybrids, created when the angel Raziel mixed his blood with the blood of men. I am horrible at summarizing/explaining books, so please excuse that, but this really is a very good series. So far, there are 5 books in the series, with the 6th to come out in 2014 (which is infinitely frustrating, because I want it now. Rawr.) I definitely recommend these books, and I hope you give them a try, hopefully before the movie comes out in August, which, by the way, I absolutely cannot WAIT for, and pray to all that is holy that they do a good job with! It looks good so far, but the fear of it being messed up is still there. Anyway. I will probably post more about books being made into movies at a later date, so I wont get to into it here. One last thing, though. There is a prequel to the Mortal Instruments, called the Infernal Devices, BUT, if you haven't read the Mortal Instruments yet, please, please, PLEASE read The Mortal Instruments first! It made the Infernal Devices so much more enjoyable, because little details clicked into place, and made sense. Any who, I will post about the Infernal Devices when I am emotionally stable enough to talk about it. ( I just finished Clockwork Princess, and if you who are reading this have read both series, or even just the Infernal Devices, you know my pain. Or, rather, my emotions. I don't even know the correct word to use.) Sorry for the long post, but it is probably not the last.

Hello!
Well, hello there lovely people! Thank you for looking at my blog, because I sincerely hope that I am talking to someone. Or rather, typing. I havent done a blog in quite a long time, so you will just have to bear with me for while until I get the hang of things again. Which, hopefully, I do. Anyway, this blog is going to be, somewhat obviously, about books. I will talk about books, review them in my own way. And while books will be the main focus, everything nerdy also will also goes. If there are any books you think I should look at, feel free to let me know! :) Thanks again, and let the reading begin!
