The Mortal Instruments

Has anyone read the Mortal Instruments series? I have. And they are in my top ten favorite books! I love the characters, and the plot. Generally everything. I know that is a little vague, but oh well. For those of you not familiar with the storyline, the first book is about a 15 year old girl named Clary, who goes to a club called Pandemonium and witnesses three teenagers covered in strange looking tattoos and with weapons committing a murder, and she is the only one who can see them. She goes home to find her mother missing, and is attacked by a demon, but is saved by Jace, one of the teens from the club, and she is introduced to the world of Shadowhunters. Shadowhunters,(also called Nephilim), are demon hunters and they are a race of human-angel hybrids, created when the angel Raziel mixed his blood with the blood of men. I am horrible at summarizing/explaining books, so please excuse that, but this really is a very good series. So far, there are 5 books in the series, with the 6th to come out in 2014 (which is infinitely frustrating, because I want it now. Rawr.) I definitely recommend these books, and I hope you give them a try, hopefully before the movie comes out in August, which, by the way, I absolutely cannot WAIT for, and pray to all that is holy that they do a good job with! It looks good so far, but the fear of it being messed up is still there. Anyway. I will probably post more about books being made into movies at a later date, so I wont get to into it here. One last thing, though. There is a prequel to the Mortal Instruments, called the Infernal Devices, BUT, if you haven't read the Mortal Instruments yet, please, please, PLEASE read The Mortal Instruments first! It made the Infernal Devices so much more enjoyable, because little details clicked into place, and made sense. Any who, I will post about the Infernal Devices when I am emotionally stable enough to talk about it. ( I just finished Clockwork Princess, and if you who are reading this have read both series, or even just the Infernal Devices, you know my pain. Or, rather, my emotions. I don't even know the correct word to use.) Sorry for the long post, but it is probably not the last. Read on! -Mad
